Common Faults:

Oil pressure alarm light remains constantly on / fails to light up

Engine ECU reports a "Low Oil Pressure" fault code

Abnormal pressure reading (too high / too low / no display)

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check the sensor connector for looseness, corrosion/oxidation, or water ingress

Measure the sensor resistance: Approximately 200–500Ω at room temperature; resistance decreases as pressure increases

Resistance is abnormal → Replace the sensor; Resistance is normal → Check the wiring or the oil pump/filter element
