Effects of spheroidizing annealing and subsequent heat treatment on the microstructure and properties of high chromium wear-resistant cast iron

The effects of spheroidizing annealing and subsequent different heat treatment processes on the microstructure and properties of high chromium cast iron were studied. The results show that after annealing at 1 200 ℃, the carbides in the high chromium cast iron structure change from long chrysanthemum shape to short rod and granular shape. After heating at 1 000 ℃ for 4 h, air-cooling quenching, and tempering at 500 ℃, the hardness of high-chromium cast iron is HRC61, the impact toughness is 7.19 J/cm2, and the wear resistance is also improved.
